Lorens to defraud the government in connection with supplying letter carriers satchels to the postoffice department, was put on tbs stand here. Tbe witness was Jams* K. Polk, a law partner of Crawford, who drew tbe contracts between Crawford and Lorens. He explained In detail tbe drafting of a number of contracts and repeated conversations that took place between Crawford and Lorens in relation to terms of the contracts.
