CHOICE MISCELLANY

One of the moat remarkable discoveries ever made In the region la that of a lake of liquid soda in the Inaccessible desert between Crastone, Colo., and Hooper, in tha Ban Lula valley. The lake Is an 'acre and a quarter In extent and lies at the bottom of a little basin valley In the desert. On^ta surface rods crystals have collected to a depth of eighteen Indies, the-whole lake having the appearance of a body of Ice with a bard snow covering. A recent examination by the , Bute Bcbool of Mines Show* that these crystals are 87 per cent pore soda, purer than most of the commercial soda offered on the market. -A—Denver man. E. M.
