THE PRUDENTIAL KEPT THE POLICY IN FORCE.

A Newark Prudential Superintendent on calling to see a policyholder was surprised to learn that he was dead. “We did not report his death to the Company, said the widow, “because - we had let the policy lapse, my husband having lost his employment before he died.” The policyholder had had a loan on this policy and his wife thought there was nothing more coming to her. There was a reserve, however, which, through the Company's liberal automatic extended insurance clause, kept the policy in force. Thus she was paid $1,000, less the amount of loan and unpaid premium.
