The item appropriating $1,211.000 for Cold Spring Inlet Channel, providing (100,000 is raised by those interested in Cape May. and presented to the Secretary of War, was left in the bill, assuring Cape May of the building by the Government of the channel 35 feet in depth between the Atlantic Ocean and the new harbor through Cold Spring Inlet. The bill now goes to the President for his approval, and which he must sign before noon next Monday, March 4. when the Fifty-Ninth Congress expires by law. He will probably sign the bill before Saturday night.
