(Quarreling Among Tbemaelves Judging from the reading of Senator Hand's newspaper, bis followers appear lo be in a considerable of a racket the decision to name a county ticket for the Republicans to support the coining primaries. It says: ■The latest political news la that \Y. H. Bright, who desires to get to the Amembly somehow, and Mayor Hilton of Anglesea, who desires to be sheriff ‘lied up' together to do political deed and that the redoubtable ex-J udgt Voorhees is their principal sponsor The J udge is a military man of decided ibility- He understands the well known evolution of ‘about face' better than any man in the county. You to catch him on the turn and, chock him or he keeps on going round and round.” J udge Voorhees, however, seems to a.e bad the happy faculty of always coming out on the winning side. In 1900 he was with Senator Hand and lenator won: in 1903 he had the credit of being with Senator Creme and against Hand, and Crease won; and in 1906 he w as out and out for Hand and Hand won; and if his going with the person who succeeds is to be repeated the alleged Uright-Hilton combination ill succeed.

Pilgrim'.

Last Sunday, September 1st, at the on Piet Opera House, The Drury Stock Company pmenled Mr. Frank igne's splendid dramatization ol Buny-an's beautiful allegory. The sacred concert” was indeed sacred. Never on the boards of any opera house has there been presented anything appropriate than this presenlaJl sacred play. Interesting from start lo finish. Tlie audience followed, imea breathlessly, the progresa of Pilgrim, “who L fleeing (he wrath to come.” Mr. ( oigne emayed the rote of Christian, and hu “make np” gave one an instinct of the first great Christian, and bis acting throughout was on that high religious plain we would naturally expect this character to be placed. The fight with the arch fiend Appollyoo (taken by Mr. Sedgwick) m a» a splendid stage effect, and the ringing words: “In all these things

fit ending to the exciting contest. The scene and costume effects . _ .ilendid. Credit fat doe to Mr. Mllcombe, Mr. Bumelt and Mr. Du Krayne for their able delineation of the roles they aaaamed, and lo Mr. 8edgwiod's able management of the stage. The spectacle was accepted by the patrons as an unusual t real, and we

nope lo soon see it repeated.

Mr. Coigne’s play is something worth

going a long way to see. Goaactl la Regalar Meaetoa
