The canvas shed I hi let line so we did not get a pardcli I. Friday morning we again start ed for Touopah, a distance of forty ml Its., w ith no water or feed on tin way. Forty miles Is an awful hard day’s ride, with a pack horse. For the sake of the pack horse you must not trot or gallop, but walk, that 1* walk your horoea. From Silver Peak U> Tonopah was worse than ever it seemed the farther east you traveled the worse matters became. It was over a mountain mad not rough, but a steady up hill climb for more than half the distance and awful sand, to say nothing of the heat. Don't know the name of the valley that Silver Peak rises from, but al the north end of the valley is a dry sail lake six or eight miles across. With the sun shining on the salt almost bums your eyes out. The glare much more than that from snow. Well, Friday evening about n o’clock we reached Tonopah. We were long in linding a feed yard for horses, but on enquiring what the charges were lo feed we were informed it was a dollar each feed. We having three nurses horses that meant iollars per day. We found i everything the same way (high), you could not gel any sort of a meal for less than fl.uO. We concluded the quicker we saw the town and the » the better.

Bulletin. , l / WHY YOU SHOULD SEE JAMESTOWN.
>HT
The Jamestown Exjrosition is no longer a prospect; it has developed into an interesting reality. Its field is distinctly historical. and it liberally illustrates by pictnre and reproduction the development of American civilization and American Institutions from the day of the first setllemeit on Jamestown peninsula in 1607 through three hundred years to the present time. Famous buildings in the Nation's history have been reproduced by thirty different states,'filled with memories of tbe olden times and of memorials of the upward marchThe National Government has taken a keen interest in the Exposition, aud is one of its chief exhibitors. The display of modern warships of all nations on Hampton Roads is a unique and attractive feature, and the military manoeuvres lend a stirring touch to the daily progrom. The Jamestown Exposition is a prominent event in our National history and should be visited by every American citizen who desires to see what thiee hundred years of American enterprise has wrought in ourland. The Pennsylvania Railroad offers attractive service via Philadelphia and its "Cape Charles Route;" by its routes via Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay lines, via Washington and the Potomac Jtirer line, and via Washington and Richmoud. The rates are reasonable and the fare varies according to the route and length of the stay. Ask Ticket Agents for rates of fare, stop-over privileges, and time of trains.
