Bwayze Gives a Tip. Lawyers and visitors In the Supreme Court room at Trcnton_ were amused one day last week by a brief colloquy between Justice Swayze and J. Wharton Stokes of Atlantic City. M* Stokes was renewing before the full court an application for a ttorari under the landlord and ant act which had been refused by one of the justices with leave, however, to apply to the court in bank. During his argument Mr. Stokes re“Atlantic County has been Ignoring the act of 1895." "The Court Is fully aware." marked Justice 8 way re. "that lactic County has been Ignoring several of the acts on our statute books. "Tern," replied Mr. Stokes, "but w< understand perfectly well that in Atlantic County we are outside State of New Jersey." . "Atlantic County may have occasion to change that understanding before long." was the parting thrust of Justice Swayxe before Mr. Stokes resumed his argument
