There is one other thing, in regard to which we hare a word to ny, before we close thte artici*. The subscription, a Cray of which may be seen in the Ware ofApril Ulh, gives the sabreribers the privilege of pa-, inf their subscriptions in work or material, if they choose, nnder proper restrictions ; and the same instrument makes the payments due at the call of the Board, after the futn of $175,000 is subscribed; and the article of agreement from the Board makes the payment of ten per cent payable before they are to commence the voyk- N'ow, the question will arise, how are those who are to pay their subscription* in work and materia!, to pay this ten pe*- cent., when the work is not to

f payment is made ? The answer is readily given. The fame circumstance existed in the building of the section of the road above Millville. Those subscribers gave their due bill, to the amount of the install ment, payable in work or material when called for, which w«s received us a cash payment. Such will be the case in this work, so that no difficulty can possibly
arise from that score,
N'ow we hare only to say in conclusion, that we think the whole matter is before the! people, in sc clear un4 plain a light,
When at bur ioftsty court last Week, we were gin4 to see that the peepto manifested so commendable a degree of railroad spirit. The reason ef this we have pretty clearly shown in a few pf the -last Imuws of the Wave, but there is one reason which, perhaps, we hsre not, at least but .partially, adverted. It is this.- The largeaeM of the sum required to be raised, before the work can be commenced. Wnen at the court Istl week, we saw the post Incky runaway that we ever witnessed. A horse bad juit been harnessed, in the' back yard of the hotel, when he gave the hostler'.be idipt ran oat through the gate, Striking the gate-post, and upsetting the carriage. Ho then ran, with the carriage on the side, nnlil he came to the turnpike, when the carriage righted, and the horse made tracks, as feat ax his legs would carry him.- Several attempts were made to stop him, but to no_effect, except to sheer him oat of fhe road, when h&'would again- take tke pike, as regnlarly as if he had bad a -driver After running abeat an eighth of a mile some oue attempted to stop him, when he took a wheel lo the right, with “n somewhat circuitous rightabout-face, not exactly in military style, and thus retraced hit step/a* fast as ever. When he came* nearly in front of the bote], a crowd attempted to greet him, and one man caught him by the halter, and held him fast. On qsaaioalion, no injury to the horse, ebrriage or harness was found, except a slight one to the bridle, which had fallen from the head of the horse, and was dangling around his fore legs. If any one thinks he can make a more lucky runaway, let him
try it, is alt we hare to say.

The question involved in 4he protest of the Speniah Minister against the capture .of the Marine 'Steamers, is as to their legal transfer from the Spanish owner; to General Miraraon, previous to that occurrence. There is reason to believe that the House Committe on Foreign Affairs will report a bill providing for a first-class mission 4o Sardipin, in accordance with Mr ^Burlingame's resolution, adopted oo Fridayf last. FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE.
We.have later news from Europe, by the arrival of the Arago at New Yprk. Par liament had adjourned over to the IGlh lust, or. account* of the Kusier holiday*. Wsrrents have heen issued for the arrest of Ileeimn and Barer*, who. if arrested, would be put under bonds to keep the pence for a year. A revolutionary' movement is announced in 8pain,.in favor of Don CDfe* los .under the lead of Ortega, who with 3pi)0 men has proclaimed Don Cnrlos King. Austria protesu against the annexation of Savoy to France. It is thought probable that a conference of the great power* wilf yet be held on the subject. Great Brilian wHl probably acquiesce in the recent acquisitions. of the King of Sardinia. The* provinces elnifned. by Switzerland have elected five Freach partisans to one of
Switzerland.
Latest.—The last arrival from Europe brings the following news.Sickening revelations regarding . the coolie trade on th« southern coast of China-, have come lo light The revolution in Spain has turned out to be a failure. .The troops endet Gen. Ortega-were deceived si to the object of hi* movements. As soon a* they understood his designs they refused to march and declared for ' the Qneen. Ortega immediately 0ed, and was pursued by his own troops, but had irol been captured. Perfect order and tranquility reigned Utroughoul Spain. All fhe deputies at Madrid had presented an ad dress-to the Qoeen. An attack had been made upon the Neapolitan troops ut Palermo by a few disaffected’persona, but they were soon dispersed, and tranquility was restored in the city.
