The annual Christmas tree was - present, differing from previous ones, | t in that it could well have been called i a "Butterfly Tree," its many branches l being literally covered with their gayly i colored and glittering wings. Walls I and windows were festooned with holly, its red berries tyoical of the i drops of blood that, fell for us, from the thorn-crowned brow on Calvary, i gleaming through the green leaves. suggestive of life everlasting, while : now and then a butterfly had appar- - ently alighted on a swaying branch. A large gilt star adorned the tree a the top, and two huge Christmas bell* i were hong in conspicuous places. As you entered, high above the curtain you read, "Merry Christmas, " while Just below "The World for I Jesus." The Three Wise Men appeared, dreesed in Eastern costumes, : impersonated by Leon Teal, Hollis i Hoffmen and Ralph Taylor, one holding in his hand the sceptre and star, i one the shepherd's crook, and the other the Bible. Three angels, cleverly impersonated by Carrie Ohadwick. Clara Baker and Nellie Taylor, with costumes of white, flowing hair crowns, i with star and wings, hovering near on one side, while on the qther were Faith. Hope and Love asking wisdom of the Wise Men. They were all gathered around the world, a large globe, and at the appropriate time were crowned by the angels. The : | opening chorus was entitled "Followjing the Star," after which came the j responsive Scripture Reading, led by Assistant Superintendent J. H. HoffThe invocation was offered by J J. W. Lowden. "He Comes ! His

i Star te In the Sky." was followed by a || recitation, "The Joy of Christmas." I by - Ralph Ohadwick. An exercise II "Christinas Bella." was rendered by I ■ three cunning little girls. An exgra cise "Chrisjpiaa Thoughts"' Was -wd! k rendered by Mrs. Taylor's class. w "Glad Bells" was sweetly sung as soloe to the choruses by Clara Baker, j. May Hoffman and Carrie Ohadwick. A recitation' by Edna 5?ilson was folloWed by a chorus by thfe school "O SMmtig .. Star," male voices led by Mr. Lowden. A recitation by Mildred Miller en- ._ titled "A Legend of the Fir Tree" ^aa k followed by t- beautiful exercise "Hearts of Txive" by Mrs. Lowden's l_ class. A two part chorus, "OaroHng jp Beds," was prettily rendered, the relt sponsiva. "rings" making a pretty feature. Eleanor Oliver recited e "Santa and the Auto," and Ralph g Ohadwick sang nicely "Christ, Hie lt Holy Baby." Mother Santa now aplC pea red in costume, and to her eight $ j little messenger boys, hastened with P their package of -'Peace, Good Will, h Love." "The Widow's Mite, 'Tho I g small in ours, gets great in God's sight," etc. After all the packages 1 e had been safely deposited with her 0 for distribution over the world, each 3 little pair of hands were folded, each 3 j little pair of eyes looked toward heaven ,e and each little voice was heard to say [ c "Thanks be unto God for his unspeak- 1 able gift."
