E. church on Wednesday afterat 2:15 o'clock, the contracting parties being Miss Mary Eleanor Neal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Neal and Mr. Thomas Jefferson Rilay of Chalfonte. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Mr. Lowden. ' The bride was given away by her father. The ring ceremony was included. The church was well filled with friends and relatives of the bride and groom. As those invited began gathering Mr. Reuben Reeves, cousin of the bride, took his place as organist, and at 2 :15 o'clock the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin, announced the coming of the bridal party. The bride was beautifully attired jn peau de soie, trimmed with over lace and carried a large bouquet of carnations, while the groom wore the conventional black. The maid of honor was Miss Rita Neal. cousin of the bride, and George Thoreton, a friend of the groom, best man. Carl Thompson was ; and Miss Laura Dennis, ' bridesmaid. Warren and Merrill Neal, | brothers of the bride, adted as ushers. At the conclusion of the ceremony the j organist performed the Mendelsohn ; wedding march and to its strains the , wedding party proceeded down the | aisle and out of the church to the car- i riages. At the home of toe bride an elaborate wedding breakfast awaited ' the bridal party, and relatives and friends. Amid showers of rice and old ' shoes, the happy couple left on the train for New York, Bound Brook, and a trip up the Hudson. On their return homeward.they will spend a few ' days with the groom's parents at Chal- ' fonte. Pa. Both are highlv esteemed ' and very popular with a wide circle of ' friends. The bride is a well known ' school taacher, and has been teaching ' in Court House for two years past. ' while. the groom is ticket agent at the 1 Reading depot at Rio Grande. Many ' valuable gifts and tokens were revived at the reception 2 Mrs. Emma Thompson is some little improved at this writing. Mrs. Seth Hand is entertaining her daughter from Wildwood. Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Reeves, of Sea Isle City, was down Wednesday to attend the wedding of their niece, Mary E. Neil. A social was held at the home of W. Horoan on Friday evening and all present reported a fine time. Mrs. Eliza Morton, of Dennitvflle, spent a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Shaw. A serenade was tendered ^Mr. and Hoffman (nee Brown,) on Saturday evening. The Chicago Legal News has this io of a former Cape Mayan recently deceased : Jeremiah Learning, the distinguished who had practiced law in Chicago" since 1867, died early Thursday morning of pneumonia at his residence 3869 Ellis aveuue. His death was fola few hours later by that of his daughter Anna. The tie between father and daughter was an unuaally close one and in death they were not sepaiated. A woman of decided intelability, she made her father's her own, and was associated with him in his office work. When [he ill with pneumonia she remained by his aide tenderly nursing until she also contracted pneumonia. Lying in|adjoining rooms each thought of the other and sent t- nder I Just before his death Mr. Learning revived and whispered feebly to knowhis daughter was.
