INTERESTING NEWS ABOUT THE INLAND WATERWAY 1

The Philadelphia ledger says : "Every important summer reaort cm the Atlantic coast, from Cape May to Bay Head, a distance of 117 miles, will be benefitted by the construction at the inland waterway through the bays and channels adjacent tp the ocean. Governor Fort, in a message sent to the New Jersey Legislature last week, declared that the projict was of vast importance, not only to the five counties through which the channel would he constructed, but to the whole State. It should be treated, the Governor asserted, on broad lines and as A matter of urgent State policy. Cape May and Bay Head are connected today by a system of hays and channels, but some of these are so narrow and shallow thkt only small craft are able to traverse the route at high tide. The channel which New. Jersey propones to construct will have a minimum width of .100 feet and depth at low water of 6 feet. Such a water-'
