Graves, who was elected one of the directors of the' Cape May Real Estate Company, at the annual meeting: of stockholders held recently, has felt compelled to resign from the position because of inability to give the business the attention'it would re- 1 quire, his engagements in other directions being too numerous. His interest in Cape May and his faith in its great future Is as enthusiastic as ever and nothing but the numerous other duties which absorb his'hime and at- . tentlon would 'cause him to relinquish the active work of director in the company which is engaged in the vast work of development on tbe east side. _ Mr. Graves has shown », many sided Interest in Cape May. He owns consid•rable'property in ftbe older portion | St tbe city and built a group of beautiful cottages in New Cape May two years ago. It was rumored a couple of years ago that be had made an effort to buy Congress Hall and tbe land belonging to it. Tbe "beautiful dairy farm which he has created at Cold Spring is one of 1 our choicest possessions and if Mr. Graves had done no more than to establish this at Cape May he would be entitled to the lasting gratitude of 1 everybody here.' The investment made there approaches closely to (200,000 ' and tbe herds of fine cattle. Jerseys. Guernseys and Holsteins which are ' maintained 'there under tHe most 1 modern conditions are well worth traveling miles to see. So also the ' hundreds of chickeog ot fine breed are 1 equally Interesting. The value to tbe community of this enterprise is Ita 1 educational influence. It means tbe ' gradual but certain development of finer cattle and chickens throughout 1 this section and tbe growth of proper * f methods in their handling and in tbe i general business of dairying and farm- i 1 r Ing. It is a positive boon to a place to j fcave a man like N. Z. Graves inter- j ' eated in it and we hope that he will" I continue the friend to Cape May he ' baa been for many years. Nothing in } connection with business here has re- ' cently occurred which caused as much disappointment as this resignation.
