VIEWED ECLIPSE OF THE MOON Quite a few Cape May people wound up tbeir alarm clocks before retiring last Friday evening, and were later •wakened from their slumbers by the [floax>diagniof1 an early morning^ reveille in order to view the eclipse of the moon, total eclipse being from 8:14 to 4:86. Those who took the trouble to arise were well repaid as a more perfect night to observe an eclipse 1 eould hardly be possible. The night was clear and the sky cloudless, and the moon was shining its brightest until the dark shadow crept slowly across, completely obscuring it from) view. VISIT OF POPULAR BALL FLAYERS Among the visitors to Cape May this week was Louis Hall, and L. Machado, of Philadelphia, two of Cape May's crack pitchers on last summer's team. Both of these young men are very popular and have lots of friends here. Louie Hall was the winner of the handsome cup put up by the Star and Wave for most popular ball player. ^Cape May Point Borough Council has decided to have the property owners petition for a $10,000 bond issue, with which to purchase and enlarge the present water works.
