Woman's Power Woman's most glorious endowment is tbe power to awaken and hold the pure and honest love of a worthy man. When she loses it and still loves on, no one in the wide world can know tbe heart agony ■* she endures. The woman who suffers from weakness and derangement of her special womanly org.ni.n, soon loses the power to away the heart of a man. Her general health suffers and she loses her good looks, her attractiveness, her amiability and ber power and prestige as a woman. Dr. R.V. Pierce, of Buffalo, N.Y., with the assistance of his staff of able physicians, has prescribed for and cured many thousands of women, lie has devised a successful remedy for woman's ailments. It is known as Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription. It is a positive specific for the weaknesses and disorders peculiar to women. It purifies, regulates, strengthens and heals. ITHE StnMOOL, Lesson VI.— First Quarter, For Feb. 6, 1910. THE INTERNATIONAL SERIES. Text of the Lesson, Matt, vl, 1-15. Memory Versa, 6 — Golden Text, Matt, vi, 1, R- V. — Commentary Prepared by Rev. D. M. Stearns. The kingdom that will surely come In God'* own time and way will be n kingdom of righteousness and Retire. Tbe Lord Jesus Christ and Hts saints shall 1« the heavenly rulers (Zech. xlv, 6, 9: ReT. v, 9, 10). and Israel, a righteous nation, the earthly centVr. bringing blessing to all tbe earth (laa. Is. 21; lxU. 1. 2, 6, 7). In order to enter tbe kJugdom one must have tbe righteousness described Id tbe last lesson - not our own by any deeds of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which Is of God by faltb (Phil. ill. 9i. If this -righteousness is truly ours It will be mail If est In our. lives to the glory of God. and the wbole life will be simply and only and always a desire for God's approval. Thus the light will shiue before men and tlod will be glorified. According to tbe scribes and Pharisees, righteousness consisted of giving and prayer and fasting, but it was all to obtain honor from men (Matt, xxiil, 5) , It was not from the heart onto the Lord. In tbe lesson today our Lord takes these three things and teaches that those who seek the praise of men

may get honor from men. but that Is all they ever will get. The truly righteous will do their righteousness (verse t, margin and R.V.1 unto the Lord, with the one desire of pleasing Him, and concerning such Jesus said three times. "Thy Father who seeth in secret shall reward thee openly" (verses 4, 6, 18). The world's favor is to many a great snare, but the motto of the truly righteous is. "Not as pleasing men but God who trieth our hearts." "Not with eye service as men pleasers. but jja the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart" (I Tbess. 11, 4: Eph. vl. O. Tbe words of our Lord In '

John vi. 57. seem to me to cover all this teaching, "As the living Father bath sent' me. and I live by the Father, so ! he that eateth me. even be shall live by me." Those who have taken the trouble to note how often In the book ^ of Leviticus, the book of worship^ the . expressions "unto tbe Lord" and "be- ( fore the Lord' are used and will lay this to heart will surely be delivered ^ from the snare of the devil against which the Lord here warns us. in reference to giving we have tbe ( contrast between tbe rich who cast Into tbe treasury of their abundance and tbe poor widow who. perhaps with ( some secrecy, cast in her two mites, , but of which our Lord made such honorable mention. The being rewarded openly Is referred to on another occasion by our Lord when He urged that we should do good to those who cannot recompense us here, reminding us of a recompense at the resurrection of tbe Just (Luke xlv, J4i. A contrast in prayer Is seen In tbe Pharisee aud publican of Luke xvill. Tbe contrast between fasting before men and before God Is set forth fully in lsa. lvlll. 1-8. Let the world go Its way and please god. but If we have become children of tbe only living and true God let us In all things honor our Father who Is ( heaven and learn to pray from the the prayer that Is here taught by our Lord, tbe only model of prayer which Christ has given us. and 1 one has said, tbe epitome of all prayer, for there Is nothing that we ask for that Is not Included lu this. This Is truly the believer's prayer, for only such can say from the heart "Our All others had better take quickly to our Lord's estimate of them In John vlll, 44. Between "Our; and "Thine Is the kingdom" there are just seven petitions, divided, nearly all sevens are, Into three and The first three refer to God, Thy Thy kingdom. Thy will; the last four refer to us, give us, forgive ns. lead us not. deliver us. God must be always first. Nothing Is right till we are right with Him. It must be "Glory to God In the highest" before there can be peace on earth. His name Is hallowed by all then the kingdom shall have come and will be done on earth as in heaven. We must never forget our daily dependence upon Him and our Indebtedto Him. remembering that we are in a world lying In tbe wicked one whom we must resist and pray to be delivered from. It a tremendous fact that onr adversary, the devil, goi etb about seeking whom he may devour (I Pet. v, 8, 9), and there Is no greater evidence of this than tbe multitudes who have been led to believe that there is no devil, that such a creature does not exist. The closing words are found fully in I Cbron. xxix. 11. in tbe prayer of David, and when tbe kingdom shall have come David's people shall be found In their own land,, all righteous, and David's son shall be seen on David's throne, according to Luke 1, 30-33. The kingdom for which we pray, the Father's kingdom. Is spoken of In I Cor. rv. 24-^S, as hcing the seqnel to Jesus reigning till He hath put all enemies under His feet the kingdom that shall follow the millennial reign. Onr being accepted by Ood In Christ and obtaining in Hiin by His blood tbe forgiveness of sins dc not depend upon our forgiveness ol others. But as children of God. redeemed by precious blood, we must forgive as we have been forgiven if we ' Would have Ills constant forgiveness.
