BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF THE CITY OF CAPE MAY IN OITY COUNCIL ASSEMBLED, AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED BY THE AUOF THE SAME: Section 1. That wbeo this ordinance shall have been regularly passed and shall have taken effect, tbe Oity Council, or tbe proper Committee or Committees thereof, may, without further order, advertise for bida for .the repair and rebuilding of the Boardwalk on Beach Avenue ; the repair of and additions to City Pavilion Number One ; tbe conrtruction of bouse sewen on Maryland Avenue between Madison Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue, a distance of approximately three hundred feet; ana on New York Avenue from Reading Avenue to Madison Aveapproximately a distance of sixteen hundred and seventy-eight feet : and on New York Avenue from Reading Avenue to Trenton Avenue, a distance of approximately six hundred and thirtv feet; and on New York Avenue from Pittsburg Avenue to Avenue, a distance of approximately six hundred and thirty feet; the construction of a sewer from Pavilion Number One to a point on Guerney Street approximately four hundred feet from Beech Avenue, a total distance of approximately four hundred and seventy-five feet, and tbe construe ion of Arches on the Boardwalk on Beach Avenue, in accordance with the petitions, plana and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer ; which bids shall be received and opened in Common Council of said Oity and tbe award of tbe Contract or contracts to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders shall be made by said City Council at such time or times as said Council shall determine to make such award or awards ; or said Council may, if in their judgment i« is 1 advisable, employ workmen and furnish materials for the construction of the said work or such portion thereof as they deem advisable. Sec. 2. And be it further ordained and enacted tnat the said City Council ; shall, without further or other order or : ordinance for thai purpose, borrow for ; the said Oity of Oape May the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars and issue Bonds of the City of Cape May therefor, pursuant to the provisions of an . act of the Legislature of the State of New Jersey entitled, "An Act to authorize any City of this State to raise money, either by temporary loans or , by the issue or issues of bonds for any sum not exceeding fifteen per centum I of the taxable value of the real and i i personal property rated for assessment I in such city, and to use the same for , the purpose of retiring the floating or ; I matured bonded indebtedness, for the i enlargement and improvement of the j ' public buildings, water works, sewer- j ' age system and for other lawful pur- ; i poses of such city," Approved March I 22, 1904, (P. And be it further ordained and enacted that upon the oompletioo of the house aewer work on Maryland and New York Avenues ordered under the provisions of thiB ordinance, the coat thereof shall be assessed to tbe adjacent properties respectively to the amount of the benefits .conferred upon the said properties respectively in accordance with the provisions of the charter of the City ol Oape May and existing laws governing such oity as to assessments ; said assessments shall be made immediately upon tbe completion of euc^i work and become payable within three mouths from tbe date of such assessments. Sec. 6.
