James Cox's house on ( Columbia avenue. Rev. W. H. Schuyler. Ph. D , of ( Centre Hall. Pa. , a commissioner of the ( General Assembly, who was a guest ( of hiB daughter, a popular high school , teacher of Cape May, preached a most ' excellent and thoughtful sermon in the Chape) Sunday night, and also enjoyed i much attending the Sunday echool pi1*- , nic at Prioe's Ueach'on Monday. The picnic of our Sabbath school ^ proved to be a very pleasant one. One more Decoration Day has passed ( and everybody was impressed at tl.e Grand Army services with the few veterans left. In the tappings of the • death we counted forty-eight veterans ( members of the John Mecray Post that ( have passed to their peaceful rest. < It is a painful fact that complaint I has 1 ccn made that a very few of our ' half grown boys have contracted the c habit of swearing to an outrageous ex- t tent and of which perhaps some of t their parents are scarcely, if at all, j i aware of. The sad feature is that j t they do it in the presence of the small . i • boys anil ladies with more or less t defiance. j i COMET PARTY 1 Miss Margaret Weldon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs James'M. REPORT CIRCULATED [UNTRUE The report which gained circulation around the city that all or some of those connected with the Minstrel Show given for the benefit of the "base ball fund" w uld be given seapasses to the games this summer, I is apparently without foundation. This report: met with the displeasure of I quite a few who thought it unfair to ask others to volunteer their services in other lines while those connected with the Minstrel Show were to be presented with passes. Manager Brownmiller and the Board of Trade thoroughly appreciate the assistance extended by all connected with the show and others who aided in various ways, but say that it was und«rstood by all parties concerned that their services were to be volunteered, and state that auch passes will not be issued. Season lic^ett for admission to the grounds, will, however, be given the young ladies who gave the entertainment last week for the benefit of the and all fair-minded citizens mill agree that thia is right. One day dsch week will also be set apart as "Ladies Day," when all ladiea will be admitted to the park free of cnarge. THE U. S. GOVERNMENT IN it* "Pure Food|Law" does not "indorse" "guaranteed" any preparation* as manufacturers in their advertisements would make it appear. In the case of medicines the law provides | ♦.hat certain drugs shall be mentioned j | the labels, if they are ingredienta of ! the preparations. Ely's Cream Balm, j the well known family remedy for cold j the head, hay fever and nasal ca- ! tarrb. doesn't contain a single injurdrug, so the makers have simply \ to print the fact that it complies fully - j with all other requirements of the law. | TOWNSEND GAVE HOUSE PARTY Miss Melvisa L.
