► New Jersey's Ocean Highway ROUTE SELECTED BY COMMISSION Meeting of Commission at Sea- Girt Decides Upon Ronte and Apportionment. Ocean Boulevard Committee met with Governor tort at Sea Girt Thursday J " and laid plans of the propsaed highway by the sea. The route of the boulevard aa agreed upon begins at Atlantic Highlands, thence to Novesink, along the ahore, 5 touching Seabright, Long Branch, Elbcron, Dead Beach, AUenhurst, Aabury Park, thence along Dead Lake to the ocean front. Grming down the ocean front Wesley Lake, through Lake ave- . nue to the upper end of Weeley lake. ' the boulevard will cross the lake at the upper end of that body of water. Where there will be some filling-in done. The road will follow the lake to the ocean front and return inland to- the main road, then to Belmar, returning to the ocean front by Fifth avenue, , thence through Belmar to Spring Lake and through to Sea Girt. f Leaving the camp at Sea Girt the boulevard -will pass through Manaaquan Inlet, thence to Point Pleasant, to Burraville, Lakewood, Toms River, Tockerton, New Gretna, crossing the Mullica River bridge to Port Republic. From there the highway will go to Cologne, thence ' to Egg Harbor, May's Landing, Tueka- , hoe, Seaville, Cape May Court House ' | and ending at Cape May Point on the West and Sewell's Point on the East after reaching Cape May. THREE BRIDGES NECESSARY It is the intention of the commission f ultimately to build a bridge over Shark River so that the boulevard will go to J Mantololcing, cross the bridge to Toms ' River, then by the former route to Port ' Republic, to Absecon, to Somers Point, thence by a bridge to Great Egg Harbor, to Beaseley's Point, to Seaville, and f thence by the former route to Cape May Three bridges will be required for the I ■ proposed modification of the present route and until the consent of the War I Department has been obtained the work | cannot be started.
