SOME RAILROAD NEWS TROLEY LIKE FROM OC&AN CITY TO MILLVILLE Pennsy Said to beJPrepsring to Eectrify Road to Cape May and Our Comity Seeorta in Time for Next Season. Bays the Millrtlle Daily Republican: "8nrveyora having been working along the line of the Weat Jersey and Seashore Railroad, between thia city and Cape May, have revived the rumor that the line it to be electrified in the spring. 11m engineers are sent out from Broad Street Station and the local officials are ignorant of their purpose iJ making the survey. Some of the rumors are that the road is to be double tracked all the way to the shore. It is said that the grsat increase in travel between this city ■i»d Camden, due to the installation of the electric system, hi* made the railroad people feel satisfied that with a double track and electric trains run frequently that it would build travel up between this city and the shore. The Sea Isle Times says: Rumors are also about in Sea Tile that big things may be looked for in the railroad serivce before many months. At any rate the Penney has been making many improvements hereabouts in the past few months, and more are contemplated, the least of which is not the new bridge across Townsend's Inlet, which it is estimated will cost dese to *400,000, including the jetty just finished at that place in an effort to fix the current, which has been the bane of the railroad engineers for years, and t which has been the cause of the Fennsv spending many thousands of dollars each wintar and spring in repairing its bridge connecting this place with the lower beach. Within the past thirty days railroad men have put in improved signal devices here. Heavier rails are being unloaded almost every week, and surveyors gangs have been frequently seen at work on the ljnc between here and L _ OteajlCSty and out toward the Junction, r* giving some foundation for the talk that the road is to be electrified. The electric road between here and Ocean Gty, it is said, will be oy the way of the old Pleasure Road, and that a combination station for the coast branch and the trains via Millville will be erected on the triangular plot belohging to the railroad and lying be tween Land is avenue and Pleasure railroad and Ocean avenue and Italia street, where the Company's water tank now stands. Public sentiment is heartily in favor of this rumored move of the railroad, and of which the railroad men say they have no knowledge, but which the report further says will be made at an early date, as the Pennsy is anxious to get rid of the big bill paid yearly to the Reading for trackage privileges over its f line from Winslow Junction to Mount I Pleasant, and which could be used to help equip and maintain an electrified road from Millville and which would be a big saving in the end if trains were aent to Cape May County resorts tath way. fc Another rumor, which may or may not have fouudation, is that Stone Harbor will be the terminus of this branch. & Ocean" Gty having to depend on the [ Shore Line electrics for its passenger TEE?
