THE MOTHER'S HOME. V """—I . The third and last Home opened in the new cottage, familiarly called the Mother House. It lias a capacity of . about 40 mothers and their children and is very neatly furnished and fully equipped with Water, gas, electricity, . baths and laundry. It is for comfort i an ideal home where a tired mother can 1 take her child for rest or if the child is sick can nurse it back to health. Its furnishing by rooms has been in the way of memorial gifts from friends and churches. It is a pleasure in our hasty review, to now turn to the naibfe of the old- • eat manager ami the second President . of the Sea -Side Home, who succeeded . Mrs. Haddock at her "death aome thirteen years ago. Mrs. King at the age of 87 years is still very active arid alert in her official duties. Having her summer residence in tape May she keeps in -close touch by frequent visits during the whole summer. With her strong influence and happy christian spirit, we trust she may kindly spared many years more of usefulness in her favorite work. UP FROM SUNNY SOUTH. William H. under new government 700,000 PERSONS IN HEW jERSEY RULED feY COMMISSION FORM OF ADMINISTRATION — CAPE MAY AGAINST NEW IDEA AT LAST ELECTION. From Monday's Daily Star and. Wave . Although the Commission form I of government for cities has been in operation in New Jersey less than - three years, today over 700,000 person c- - nearly one-third of the residents of the State — live in cities paving the new form of administration. Ii? iff there are twenty-three cities and towns and one township so governed in this State. At- the election the first Tuesday in July last year, the commission form of government met its Waterloo in Cape ] May by a majority of 80 votes. There were 143 votes cast for and 223 against | tbe commission government idea. Some Cape May residents are avowedly in favor of th$ new idea in city government, while others are dead agaiast it . New Jersey is in the fpfemost rank of States — in the lead so far as known — with cities having the Commission j form of government. According to the last census the New Jersey cities which have tried out the new ideas have a combined population of 704.6t!l. The ■ principal so governed are Jersey City. Patorson, Trenton, Passaic, Atlantic City and Orange. At the present time there is an agitation being promoted to give Newark, the twelfth largest city in the United States. Commission government. Should this city eventually be brought into 1 line, nearly one-half the population of - New Jersey, over two and a half millions at the last census, would be liv- ■ ing under the new system. Ijr 'point of time, perhaps, no more I rapid spread of an idea has been witnessed in the United States. e Linen Finished Box Paper, the 25c '. variety at 15 cents, until Satnrdav. ^ June 27- Star and Wave Stationery . ■ Department.
