( « He had been troubled more or less in recent years with heart trouble but was able to follow his trade. He worked until the day before his death. He arose early ( Sunday morning and remarked to members of his family that he had j not felt better in several years.Fol- ( lowing his breakfast whieh was a hearty one, he was stricken with fainting spells. Dr. V. M. D. j Marcy was summoned, but in less than an hour she, had _gHeeuml>ed. Mr. Cassedy was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Cassedy i and was born in Cape May. In l early life he learned the carpen- ! try trade at which he worked sev- i eral years. Later in life he start- i ed in work for himself and engag- l ed in contracting and huildng and i has helped in the progress of a i great many resorts along the < South Jersey coast. HOUSE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING ■ HOME OF AGED COUPLE IN J WEST CAPE MAY DAMAGED DURING SATURDAY EVENING STORM — BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE SHOCK- i ED BUT UNINJURED. From Monday's Daily Star and Wave. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas T. Swain, , parents of Charles A. Swain, the - well-known hardware merchant, 1 narrowly escaped serious injury and probable death by lightning during the stprm on Saturday afternoon. They were in their home at 128 < Second avenue. West Cape May, when a bolt of lightning accompanied fyy a loud peal of thunder struck the house shattering window panes, dishes and scattering bricks over the lawn. i Tht> lightning had hit the chiin- - ney in front of the house, demolishing it and then apparently made its way to the first floor j where it tore off a door on a dres- 1 ser scattering dishes and other articles in every direction. Mr. Swain was in the act of pulling i" down a window when the flash ' < hurled him. stunned, to the floor. Mrs. Swain lying on the- couch j was also hurled to the floor but!, neither she nor her husband were ' injured .
