SOCIETY EVENT AT HORSE SHOW PROPOSE*) HORSE SHOW TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY BRILLIANT BALL ON AUG. 29 AT HOTEL CAPE MAY — FARMSTEAD FINE SITE FOR BIG AFFAIR. What should be one pi the greatest events of its kind ever held in Cape Jiay, is the contemplated Horse Show Ball, on the evening of the day of the August 29th, at the Hotel Cape May . This surely would be a beautiful ending of the season and the Show. Never before has the attempt been made to hold ii Horse Shaw, principally being to the lack of tbe necessary horses- to portray the same. Since the, advent of the Dwyer Hunt and Riding Stables what had heretofore seemed inijiossible has now become a reality. Where could a better site been .procured for the holding of an open show than tbe Farmstead, wftbin five minutes of tbe city, surroundings that are simply perfect and ideal. Mr. Nelson Z. Graves lias shown his faith in the project by offering the use of the gTound and the help and assist-' anoe of his entire force on the Farm- j stead, particularly that of the superintendent, Mr. George C. Rea, a practical farmer and a genuine lover of . and keen for the success of thej enterprise. No pains or expense are toll.- span-d . fin- Farmstead on August . 2!'tb will be dedicated to the pleasure of the patrons of the Show toegtlier with a look at what hundreds of visitors! lo our shore are not aware of, the most ! modern, sanitary aTid up-to-date dairy! and |>oultry fr.rni in the east and where visitors are always welcome. Tlie"cJhnmittee in charge has for some ; time considered the thought of windingup the Horse Show with a ball, where' to hold it was a complex question, and 1 remained for the genial and successful .Mr. James E. Galbrey, of the Cape May to solve the question. ] Notwithstanding the fact that the lio- 1 tel will be taxed to its limit in this • particular date. Mr. Galbrey summoned j the heads of his several departments | to whom the committee expressed their j ' earnest -desires of holding a ball . Suf- , Cuifcluded to hold a ball at the hotel. I The ball room and the entire easterly | front and side of the tlic broad piazza's j will be fenced off for the occasion, both ■ orchestra's will be placed at the dis- ' posal of the Horse Show ball patrons. ' and a buffet luncheon will be had on ! the piazza. The same, together with the ball room handsomely decorated ' with all the equipment of the hunters. , hacks and polo ponies and harness horses ! with garlands of electric lights strung - around the same. And above all, the - piece de resistance the great surprise of • the evening, will be arranged by the chef. Mr. Ifisler. late of the Roll. vueStratford, and the head waiter, Mr. James L. Wareham, who has no super- ■ jor in this or any other country, in making such affairs a success. This sur- J prise is to remain a secret. Without doubt the committee are to be congratulated on the good "work so done. It now rests with the cottagers and visitors to cool Cape May to : lend a helping hand to form a nucleus ! for the city's great need, a fund for the Cape May hospital. Mr . Dwyer has been " requested by . County Clerk A. Carlton Hildrcth and, Dr. Joseph Douglass to take charge of the Horse Show which will he a new f.-iitar.- in connection with the Cape May County Fair. Mr. Dwyer has rcmeeqfi-d to act in this capacity and ; will have fifteen of his horses in the; Deafness Cannot Be Cured by local applications, as they cannst reach the diseased portion of tho ear. "As I teach it," replied the young teacher, "no subject could be more difficult and confusing." LippincottV CAST© RIA
