CUMBERLAND COUNTY ROADS TO BE IMPROVED Arrang-m-nt* have practically been m • for the permanent improvement of the old main stage road from Camden to Millville, and then south to the Cape May Oonnty line. Tbia matter ha* for some time been under consideration. On Tue»day last the permanent improvement of the road was tentatively determined at a eonferenee of State Road Commissioner Edwin A. Stevens, State Prison Inspectors B. P. Hires and Harry W. Jones, Freeholders George Reeves and William Chambers of this County. and County Solicitor Rosen* C. Ward. The matter wa* gone over very carefully and at length. The State Prison Inspector pointed out the necessity for an improved road by reason of the State Prison Fann being, upon this highway. The inspi-clors have made formal application for the State Road Departmental permanently improve the highway from West- Creek on the Cape* May County to the Mauriretowu State Road, a distance of approximately eight miles The representative* of the Board of Freeholders who were present, agreed that they would recommi-nd the improvement of the ro^d from Millville to Mauri i-etown as a State and Connty enterprise. If the Cumberland Board of Freeholders agrees to make this application to the State Road Department, the State Commissioner will grant the request and the entire improvement Of 15 miles of roadway will be made. — Bridgeton Pioneer.
