J COMMUNICATED > I Dear Editor: In travelling over the county; from Cape May City to Ocean City r, on the seaside, and from Cape May Point to Eldora on the bayside, we t in our county have noted the/great e religous revival interest manifest- - ed in all parts of the county. In n almost evert* Methodist and Bap- . tist church there has been a large j ingathering of new members. We 1 have also noted the large number 0 of villages tvith only from one to - three and four hundred inhabitn ants that have from two to three 4 churches. To us this looks like a 1. great mistake. s While we admit it is a very sat- - isfactory thing to have a church to attend of one's own particular - choice, yet would it not be better - for the cause to have more strong 1 church(srand less weak ones than . there arc at present. If we were to enter heaven be- - canes we were Baptist. Methodist 1 or Presbyterians it might do to • consider the denominational in- - terest but if heaven is to be ob- • tained through our love of God I and mankind, should we not he • more liberal in our religions views, "j Now for example, take the vilp lage of Goshen, which has two ' churches. Would* it not be wiser '| and better if they could so see and • I have one good, strong church so ' that they could employ a good | preacher and keep him at his homo church ? Dia-s Creek has two weak church- . es: Green Creek has two that are not very strong; Rio Grande has three, and all three would hardly make on strong society. Now. Mr. Editor, without throwing any reflections on any one of - the above mentioned villages or ,.j churches would it not be a wise i and a Christian act for these so- . cieties to get together and double f up their forces and instead of hav- - ing about nine church societies ia ? the above named villages, have t four and all worship together; • would it not be' more Christ-like t and bo better for each community, i Then church-goers could have men - to preach the word to thera that ■ have a stronger hold on the peo- ' pic they serve. Nowhere in God's holy word do we read where there , ever was a soul saved by the church's denomination. Let the churches lav aside the • denominational factor, join forces [and work together, for where there 5 1 is unity there is strength. An Observer. | COUNTY FARM DEMONSTRAi TORS HOLD CONFERENCE On Wednesday and Thursday, February 17' and 18, Prof. Alva Agce, State superintendent of farm demonstration in New Jersey met at the New Jersey Experiment Station with the county farm t demonstrators of the State. | This meeting was called for conjferenee and was. intended as a " I medium for the interchange of , ideas on the part of those who participated. Such meetings are held I from time to time and have proven J helpful by bringing the different . demonstrators into contact with 1 each other other so that they can discuss individual problems and . get each other's viewpoints on mat.Iters of administration. They are . I intended also to bring those in " the Experiment Station in closer J; touch with the difficulties of the • ■farm demonstrators so that they • can plan to better advantage to as•isist them by personal service in | demonstration and lecture work. The farm demonstrators are the . representatives in the counties of !tlie Experiment Station and this close personal touch from time to J time means much in linking up the I Experiment Station with its eounjtv agents, and through them with ■ | the farmers.
