GREEN CREEK Joseph Yogle and Stewart Lowe and wife, of Wilmington, spent Easter with Harry Conover and family. Thomas Holmes and wife make "Weekly trips here from their Holly Reach home. He has been elected for another year as principal of our public school. Mrs. Mary Ross, of Court House, was called here last week to the bedside of her sick father who died Saturday. Owing to the severe blizzard many of our people were not permitted to attend the funeral of Thomas H. Learning at Dias Creek Saturday. Misses Helen Schellinger and Gertrude Norbury who are attending school in Philadelphia spent Easter at home. Prof. Mattison S. Cresse and family of Philadelphia spent Sunday with Oapt. and Mrs. E. C. Norbury. The Township Committee have appropriated five hundred dollars to be spent on the road from Dias Creek to Wildwood Junction. Jim Schellinger and Elmer Hemmingwav have the work in hand. Charles Marquet, our barber, vacated the house of Thomas Foster on Monday and now occupies the house of Alvin Doughty for a few months. Eight sweet young damsels from Wildwood hiked over from Wildwood j to Green Creek Friday and spent the j day with Mr. and Mrs. "Griffith, who j occupy the MacNamee farm. Mr. Sanderland moved from the Shellinberg farm last week. Bernard Tronmen, of Wildwood, followed him. Mr. Weaver, also of Wildwood, moved in the tenant house of the same farm and Mr. Griffith moved to the MacNamee farm. The blizzard on Saturday did considerable damage here to buildings, trees, and the fleet of boats at Norbury's landing suffered badly. All the boats were sunk but one. Some were so badly damaged they will prove almost p total loss to their owners. After several years of faithful service, Mrs. Maggie Leeds is about to give up the sextonsliip of the Methodist church, owing to poor health. Miss Hester Errickson is the guest of her nephew, George Mixner and wife. James MacLinden, of Anglesea, was here Monday. Clinton Conover has built a new outbuilding to accommodate his increasing stock. Mrs. Harry Watson drove to Court House after her son Gilbert who has been visiting his grandparents. Edgar Cresse of Cape May City spent the first of the week with his chil- , dren here. , Oapt. W. G. Thompson and wife, of Dennfevillc, was called here Tuesday to attend the funeral of W.
