FINE FISHING SEASON PROMISED IN JERSEY afiootooo Trout and 1,000,000 Landlocked Salmon in the Streams, Says Commission. Trenton, March 31— With 2.000,00(1 trout and 1,000,000 land-locked Salmon, all of the six-inch legal size, swimming in the ponds of New Jersey, the greatest fishing season this state has ever seen will open tomorrow, according to the State Fish and Game Commission. The Commission has promised the fishermen of this State and non-resi-dents who come into it to angle perfect fishing conditions within three years, if they will support the move to compel J a license fee for fishing, so that the fish ! hatchery at Hackettstown may be built. 1 There are three kinds of license^. Tin- j first-class requires a f <*< ■ of $1.15 for residents of the State: the second costs j $10.15 and is for nonresidents and aliens hunting and fishing: the third fee is' $2.15 for nonresidents and aliens fishing in the State. Anglers are allowi-d to take 25 trout ; in one day and 10 land-locked salmon They are warned to take their licenses ! with them, as any person has the right to ask to see the ranis. The spirit of revival seems to be gripping West Ope May and vicinity. Mrs. Ludlam Hand, of Cape May Court House; Mrs. Sue Goff, of Eldora. and their sister, Mrs. Samuel Bishop are visiting Mrs. Bishop's daughter, MrsFrank R. Hughes. The t'nion cottage prayer meeting" of West Cape May were well attended. This coming Tuesday evening they will be held at the following homes: Mrs. Chas. Willis, Broadway; Mrs. Henderson, Eldredge avenue; Mrs. Annie McKean, 2nd avenue. Come out. Don't forget, the prayer meeting next Thursday evening jn the chapel. BASEBALL AT WEST CAPE MAY The West Cape May Jrs. won tinthird game in a series of five on Saturday, April 10, by defeating the Cape May Annex team in a clo6e and exciting game, 9-8. Bennett pitched a fine game, holding them hitless until the 5th inning when Ewing misjudged a long fly to left. Bennett had very good support. The feature of the game was -loe Chambers' one-handed running catch of a right field fly. Arrangments have been made between the respective managers of the two teams- for a series of 5 games. Three have been played, the Jrs. winning two of them. The next game will - be on Saturday, April 17. The manager of the .Ira. is arranging games with Rio Grande ' Wildwood, Cold Spring and Cape -May Court House. In the Annex's hnlf of the tenth, an interfered ball scored a run.
