A FEMALE ARISTOCRAT f The bugaboo of a female aristocracy was flaunted before delegates at the ( second annual Gloucester County Boys' • Conference, held in the Pitman Mcths. , odist Episcopal Church, in an address • by Prof. E. B. Woods, supervising principal of the Glassboro public schools. His Subject was "Why More Boys Ought to Attend High School." 'Tor every 100 boys there are 142 ,
^ girls in high school today," be said, , J "and the ratio is increasing. What does this denote? It forcasts that the girls y on the whole will be better educated t ^ than the boys. The danger signal points toward what the Socialist described as ^ a male proletariat — an ignorant mass— and a female aristocracy. Women are J coming into public affairs fast; they are sounding the clarion notes of equal ^ suffrage throughout the land, and well they may, too, for the average woman is coming to be more intelligent than the average man." There were 121 boys registered at the , ^conference from twenty-eight different , towns and rural communities in Gloucester county. They represented fortyone Sunday schools and twelve Y. M. , C. A. groups. — Camden Po6t-Telegram. OF THE OWNERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, CIRCULATION, ETC. Of the Star and Wave published daily, at Cape May, X. J., required by the Act of August 24, 1912.
