FARM DEMONSTRATION NOTES THIN YOUR PEACHES We all know that there is going to be ah enormous crop of peaches this season ; not only in Jersey lurt also in the other peaoh sections such as Georgia, Connecticut and New York 8tate. A good many of .us are now wondeiing how we tre going to get rid of our fru't; when our trees w- loaded and our neighbors Have just as many as we. The man who is growing fruit, clean and large fruit and grades it property, using a neat receptacle in which to market the fruit will' obtain the best prices. There, are at least two tliiugs now that growers must do if they want to realize a reasonable profit from their peach crop this season. The first is to thin their fruit and the other is to use their head and cut down flie cogt of handling their "fruit t oa minimum. Bv proper thinning of the fruit at this time the cost of handling is | inor- titan cut in halves. I it costs more than twice as I luch to handle ' o baskets of 50c1 eaehes as i: h-i to handle one! . ask ' of A • .< i- 1 v -aches, so if we I. grov. d. iiar kind we wall also' matut mi the -ost of handling . . which ileitis mure profit. I Friends, we must exert every possible effort to grow only A. i. peaehes as there is always a market for such fruit. 1 GEORGE B. College June 28th, is much larger than that of preceding years. Many teachers of New Jersey are availing themselves of the opportunities offered to obtain college credit and credit for State Certificates. The courses in Industrial Arts, Manuel Training, Domestic Science, Domestic Art and Vocational, Education all of which will be offered in the new Middlesex vocational school building situated near the Rutgers College campus !are enrolling many students. The 'courses in International Relations, I South American Geography, and ! Spanish offered in co-operation ^ I with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, are likewise 'attracting many persons. This ses- ( Ision offere also opportunities to 1 [pursue broad cultural courses in J Cathedral Architecture, in the His- ! |tory of Painting and the History -j of Art. -J Large dormitory and dining ac- j eommodations are available at low f rates and all facilities of the Col- j lege are at the disposal of the stn- f dents of the Summer Session. One j of the most attractive additions to -1 the school is the $25,000 swim ming f pool, the £ift of Mrs. Robert Fr I Balantine. which lias been com- I pleted verV iceently. These to- 1 gether with the numerous social fl advantages which accrue from at- 1 tendance at a regular college and I t lie central location of New Bruns- " wick makes -Rutgers an ideal place M at which to spend a summer in! . study. This is witnessed by the j fact that a large number of Rut- . gers men will attend this session j of their Alma Mater, to pursue j a various courses. Everything pos- • I sible has been done by the College I to make the summer session an in- I teresting and profitable^ne.
