WEDNESDAY FOUND A LARGE NUMBER OF DEVOTEES OF THE LINKS OUT FOR A FEW ROUNDS ON THE ' SPLENDID CAPE MAY GOLF CLUB COURSE. . From Thursday'* Daily Star and Wave The golfer, like the game, U some unexpected. Things that ought to happen don't occur. Here we have a handy little golf course within easy reach of tlie town and ocean, with the finest, truest greens within a hundred, miles, and a large number of those uncertain golfers liave forgotten this is Wednesday and preferred to stay in a stuffy office in the city. Truly the way of our players this season vies with the pro-j verbial way of a man with a maid. Some' few, of course, are- consistent. Judge L..W. Doty.jgaine out this morning about 3 holes -before S. L. McFetridgc, but botlk-F^ient the greater part of the morning on (lie bourse Tliey \i4re joined later by W. I). Frisrauth and A. Noel in a match at catch weights for the title. • ; ' The liispham family^vere well represented:* Miss EleanOT*" played a two: some in the morning with Miss Hinraan. In the afternoon Bispham senior and son Jack got into fast company in a match' with R. C. Meeker. Jack is shaving 39 and with pere Bispham winning a hole now and then, things were decidedly interesting for the other members of the threesome. Since Jack graduated .from the kindergarten, Mrs. Bispham has not played much golf. She was out this afternoon . in a mutch with Mrs. L. C. Ogden. Ml*- F\ L. Hauling and Mrs. L. A. Davis played a twosome in the afterAfter winning all the sailing races in sight. Miss EJlle] Campbell, by way of variety, took on A. L. Walter, Jr., 'for a little golf. Miss Campbell has quite a reputation as a golfer, but discovered. that Walker with a golf kit is stronger opposition than Moorehead with a sailboat. In spite of the time allowance. lie won with a 70. - G/W. llovd's family have been prominency identified with the club ever since its organization. This season it is represented among the players by Miss Elizabeth Boyd and her brother Crosby. We need hardly mention those irrepressible juniors. Like the poor they are always with us. By all gates left unguarded they storm us in the early morning and*, with a short respite at around until a hollow feeling grid the falling shades of evening remind them that it is time for more eats. Crosby Boyd rides up, putts a little, takes a round with his sister and evaporates for awhile. Charles Justi putts a few, takes ■ a little refreshment, shows Jim Ellison how to play a short iqashio, putts some . more, takes Bob Stevenson nine holes and just practices. .Tack Bispham sits B on the porch during the morning conserving his energies for his regular afternoon nrateh. The real live wires are the Stevenson boys. Mrs: Stevenson takes them out and entertains them part ,of the day, father goes a round • whenever lie is down and the "rest of . the time they woyk off surplus energy in all the ways known to golf. Taken ! all in all, they don't bother anybody and spread an atmosphere of unadulterj a ted joy around that would be Jhdlv Mrs. T. H. Vetterlcin. Mrs. F. L. Hard- ' ing. Mrs. H. E. Pepper and Mrs. L. A. Davis hold the recqrib for the season. Thev rarely miss a day. , Judging by carsight. Hart and Adams of opera, 'fragments of folk song, a few trills and an animated' dispute over some misplaced wearing apparel ap-pri-ed us of their presence. Further ins qiiirv elicited. the information from -an" amused observer that he had seen Hart make the tith hole in 15. which put Adams one up. We don't doubt the veracity of the gallery, but such proENDORSED_AT HOME Such Proof as This Should Convince any Cape May C. H. Citizen. The public endorsement of a local citizen is the best proof that can be produced. None better, none stronger can bo had. When a man comes forward and testifies to his fellow citizens, addresses his friends and neighbors. you may -be sure he is thoroughly ly convinced or he would not do so. Telling one's experience when it is for the public good is an act of kindness that should be appreciated. The following statement given by a resident of Cape May C. DL adds one more to ~ the mpnv eases of Home Endorsement [which are liting published about Doan'e Kidney Pills. Read it. Charles H- Foster, carpenter, Bitvside Ave., Gape May C. H„ says: '"1 have found Doan's Kidney Pills to be just' as good as represented. My back ached and the secretions from my kidneys were irregular in passage. Doan's Kidney Pill' removed these ailments and restored my kindnevs to a normal coudi- * tion." Price 50c. at all dealers.
