bridgT tournament Thursday's Daily Star and Wave The Corinthian Yacht Club, which is doing more than any other social institution in Cape May, this season to things going at this resort, will to-nigbt to bold a Bridge Tourimwill bring together, every Thursday night, at the Corinthian, all the good bridge players of Cape May's most exclusive social set. Mr. Morton IL Alexander the chairman of the Regatta Committee at the Club is an ac- - tive promoter of the tournament, and the people of Cape May have already learned to know that when he lends his influence to any movement it is certain to succeed. All tlie members of the Club are taking an active interest in the coming tournament, and the are especially enthusiastic. Tables can be subscribed for by one or more persons. Each table will be . arranged for four. At each weekly event there will be a prize awarded to the winner at each table. ' At the end of the season there will costly prizes for the winner of the tournament. For to-night's event there have been twenty tables subscribed for. and those in charge anticipate that after the first night there will • be no less than fifty ' tables taken every night. Thursday'* Daily Star and Wave Yesterday afternoon, the ball room of the Hotel Cape May wa* the scene of a very pretty and also a very select society event. The event was the annual Benefit Card Party of the Women's Ass sociation of the Cape May Golf Club. There were about eighty ladies present, and' they represented the most exclusive of Oap^ May's social set. The room was tastefully prepared for the occasion and the many fashionably gowned and beautiful ladies set off the whole scene to perfection. Mrs. R. W. Starr is president of the association and with the assistance of the other members of the committee, Mrs. J. M. E. Hildreth, Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Walter Cose, every detail waa carefully taken care of, and the guests were made to feel entirely at home, at once, and all spent the afternoon very pleasantly. The prizes consisted of four decks of , very beautiful and expensive cards. 1 There were twenty tables, arranged in . four rows, extending the full length of the ball room.
