CAPE HAY DEFEATS STETSON twice on labor day. (From Tuesday's Philadelphia Press.) Hie Stetson ball team lost two garnet to the Cape Hay team a the Stetson grounds yesterday, the pitching of McKenty and Jamison proving too much for the Hatmakere scores 5-2 and 10 0. In the morning the son of Warden McKcnty baffled the Stetson batters, who were able to score in only two inone of their rune being the result of a dropped ball by Ebrman, when Dooley dashed home on a squeeze play. Myers continued his clever work at short for the Hatmakere, and Cornog and Shields shared in the fielding honors. Each team scored one in the first inning and the Capes came through with three more in the fifth, winning the game in that inning. Stetson's run in the seventh ended their rungetting for the remainder of the contest. In the afternoon Jamison was the master, pitching superbly and administering a heavy coat of whitewash to the Hatmakere The collegians had no difficulty in connecting with the bail, and their two runs in the second were more than enough to win. A bunch of six in the third session sealed up the game completely, as the Hatmakere could come through with only three safe hits, while the Capes had a grand total of seventeen. Scores: MORNING GAME.
