' A CASE FOR SUSPENSION OF JUDGMENT It is just as well to remember, while considering the sensational attempt to indict the Board of Freeholders, that the members of the said Board are representative citizens of the various municipalities of the county whose records, private and public, have been canvassed again and again. Heir accusers are as yet unknown.. It is also well to remember that the constitution of the Board of Freeholders by the election of delegates or representatives from each city and township Ts^the ideal American method of handling these things. No matter what the outcome of the grand jury's investigation the people of this county should not permit themselves to be inveigled into overthrowing the representative system in order to adopt the small Board plan. His is swiftly relinquishing the power of -the county's affairs to a small group, .who once in, could not be checked with any , thing like the facility with which the of Freeholders may be halted in any unpopular course. Solomon never uttered a wiser remark than that "In " the multitude of counsellors there is safety." If we cannot elect satisfactory men i the representative system we can
not better by electing a smaller nume ber of men at large. **— t He Bethlehem Steel journeyed to Columbia park on Tusday and were beatn en badly. Shaw was on the mound for n the Steel boys.
