Children Cry J FOR FLETCHER'S C A STO R I A « THE POMONA GRANGE it The Spring meeting of the Cape May ir Pomona or County Grange, to be held ei with tile Stone Harbor Grange next A Wednesday, has the promise of the presence of «'-n«tnr George *.V. F. Gaunt, M.i.ter of the Stat" Grange and to asj uist iu the exemplification the work and I / °

the conferring of the Degree. Senator Gaunt's party will include Gaunt 'and Henry Lippincott and wife of Marlton. A large representation other South Jersey Pomonas is expected as the degree is rarely worked out in full form, those taking It preparatory to the Sixth or State Degree being usually obligated, the paraphernalia being expensive and the full form requiring more room than most Grange halls have to offer, or can secure ; and which, but for the courtesy of the local Yacht Club would not have been obtainable in Stone Harbor. Except in the open meeting for the of Entertainment provided by the Lecturer, A. D..T. Howell, and with which the evening will dose, the Pomona session will be closed to all who not taken the Fifth Degree and are cot candidates for it. The business meeting of the Pomona will open at 2' if. in the borough hall. At this the applications for admission will be passed upon. All who have taken the Fourth Degree are eligible, and the application must come through the secretary pf each one's subordinate grange, The fee is one dollar; the annual dues 50 cents. this session will be the banquet. The evening or degree session will be in the Yacht Club's building and ad- i mission will be limited to Fifth degree « members and candidates therefor, and will begin at about 7.30 p. m. and will end with the "feast of fruits." The open session following next has, is said, »n interesting program, and which Stone Harbor will be represented by Mrs. Sanderson, Mabel Larsen, Alice Harris and Patience Richter. A. 0. U. W. DIFFICULTIES On application of Wilson and Carr, of Camden, acting for Daniel H. Gomersall, an order was issued by- Judge John Rellstab, in the United States Court recently directing the New Jersey Grand I-odge of the Ancient Order -of United Workmen to show cause before him on Monday, May 1. why a receiver should not be appointed to take charge of all of the lodge's property, and why an injunction should not be issued restraining the grand lodge from putting into effect. « new schedule of assessments and benefit*. This action is the outcome of a bill filed bv Daniel If. Gomersall. of the state of Washington, acting ror members and creditors of the New Jersey grand lodge, who have joined him in the suit and who will contribute to the expenses of the litigation. Gomersall became a member of the order in 1882. at which time he was awarded a certificate purporting to give him the right to designate a beneficiary to receive $2000 insurance. Since that time the assessments have increased until Gomersall is required to pay $4.80 a month. A short time ago Gomersall reeeived a notice that on May 1 the dues will be increased from $4.80 to $26.20 a- month. If he elects not to pay this increase of 460 per cent in dues each month, he can continue to pay his monthly assessment of $4.80, but under the penalty that the benefits to be paid upon his death will be reduced from $2000 to $366. During the last three years a number of members have endeavored to have steps taken to liquidate, but the majority of the Grand Lodge has opposed the movement. It looks now as though this step should have been taken.
