The harbor jg dotted here and there on pleasant days with lone fishermen who are anxious to catch the first weakfish that comes in the inlet. Already there has been small catches of flounders, seataug, eels, etc. A number of the mackerel fleet are in the harbor and are anticipating large catches as soon as the weather conditions become more favorable. The Easter lilies and other plants which adorned the Baptist Church on Sunday were distributed among the "shut-ins" on Monday by the pastor. Arbutus parties are popular with the younger set and many bunche« of this beautiful, delicate flower are gathered in the nearby woods. The pretty new home of Conductor Harry Lemmon on Washington street is nearing completion and will be readv for occupancy in a short time. Conductor Fred Tompkin* of the Bead - ing is utjlUing a portion of his property on Washington street for farm gard-n-Ing. Mr. Tumpkins has had • varied experience in this line and will doubtlesbe suooeesful with this undertaking. r

The residence of Samuel R. Stites has been beautified by a coat of paint, the work being done by his eon, Charles who is an artist of some merit. Commissioner Joseph H. Hanes is putting the new stand pipe in position at the sewer disposal plant and other wise improving the property. The launch. R. J. Creswell, Capt. It is 17 years since she has been an associate member of the 'Shut In" society and has been very kind to quite a number of the aick. She has an attendant, Geo. Cooper, for Carl Freeman and Mrs. McKnight loves to aire for the sick in her society and has been devoted to her work in a great many ways for 17 years. The harbor and thoroughfares are literally paved with clams in many places. Josie Hand, with a thirty-foot channel rake, eaught 1950 in three day* last week.
