Mr. Seth Johnston and lady frieeud »pent the Sabbath with hit brother John Johnston. Mrs. Lizzie Hewitt and daughter Irene of Camden were over Sunday guests of Mrs. Estella Johnston. Mr. Winifred Pettit has gone to Pennsgrove to take a position as carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Kamshaw are the happy parents of a fine little boy. Mrs. Charles Paulson has returned from heer visit to her sick daughter, as she has improved. We are glad to note that our magistrate David Hughes' arm is improving from a very bad cut by a sickle. A young people's branch of the W. C. T. U. is contemplated, in the near future. The girls are very anxious to Join it. We second the movement because it is needed and can do much good with proper direction. The severest electric storm of the season on Wednesday evening, gave a number of women in the upper part of the borough a great scare. There was a heavy flash of lightning on Broadway Just above Landis avenue, but it did no damage. Warren Hogan has moved his family from Cape May Point into the upper half of the W. B. Edmunds' homestead. Mrs. Laura Pelly is visiting Mrs. Stephen Reeves. Mrs. G. Reeves is entertaining Mrs. Stone of Philadelphia, Pa. Edgar Dawson is home from Lafayette College for' the summer. Mtb. WITH TOURNAMENT The Cape May Golf Club will open its 1916 tournament season with the Fifth Annual Golf Tournament for Women on • June 38, 29 and 80. It will start with an 18 hole qualifying round after which the players will be divided into 3 sixteens for the two ensuing days matches. Mrs. R. Waller Starr, President of the Ladies" Association, ,al>ly assisted by the various committees are busily perfecting all arrangements for this popular event. Handsome prizes have b.en purchased and are on exhibition, "players wil." be entertained at luncheon oip Wednesday and Thursday in the dub house in the hospitable manner that is well known in Cape May. Mrs. T. H. Vetterlein, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, reports a . very large and growing entry list of prominent vi * ing players and with the overflowing enthusiasm of the home players augurs well for the success of their -match.
