The Grange was opened in regular form in the fifth degree and remained in that degree all the, afternoon. . Every feature of the grange work passed of nicely, untit they reached the item of paying the yearly dues of the Grange to the County Board of Commerse when some slaimed that it was of no benefit to the Grange, Pomona c
subordinate, . The matter was dis cussed in a general way, some claimed the dues were too high for what they received. . It was clearly proven that some had. received no benefit from the Board, because they never attended noy meetings of the Heard or asked for any assistance from them. Brother Ralph Schellinger was appointed a committee of one to collect the dues outside the Pomona Treasury, which he accomplished: before the evening. session was called to order. — The dues will be paid and the membership in the Chamber retained. Prof. A. L. Clark of Trenton, delivcred a fine address. | Mr. Einstein, of the Vocational School, and Mr. Stackhouse, the farm demonstrator, also poke. — The membership in the Powona Grange is growing, those recently admitted to membership were Mr ang Mrs John Bates, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Townsend, Mr. and Mrs. — Frederick | Broadbeck, — Mrs Rose Hilton and Mrs. Elia Goditey These were obligated and the degree will be conferred in full form at the Cold Spring Grange Hall sometime in the near future. A splendid supper was served to m large: crowd. — The evening: session was in charge of Lecturer A. T D Howell who superintended a good program, as he always does. . The South Scaville Brass Band was pre sent and rendered several good sclee
ions. — The evening entertainment | would have been a little more enjoy» able had their not been quite so many mosquitors, who were bothersome despite the fact that Brother Joseph Camp, one of the commissioners was present.
