Lin K3011)) 1X3 IDENTIFIED LADS SWEPT OUT TO SEA DROWNED _ IN | BOTTOM _ OF BOAT-SKIFF | SWEPT — SIXTY MILES FROM PLACE WHERE BOYS | SET — OUT. Face downward, in a small rowbost half filled with water, the bodies of the two school boys who started duck hunting near Longport, N. J., Saturday morning, were | found Monday, near Cape May. ® The bodies were identified an those of Raymond Iszard, of 241 West Hanabury street, Germantown and John Scott Ledbetter, of Chicago, whose mother has been staying at the Ambassador, Atlantic City. | Both boys were sixteen years old and students at the Winchester School, Longport. In the forty-eight hours since the boys Inst had been seen by a coust guard getting into the row boat, the little water-fled craft had been swept about sixty miles along the coast. The condition of the boat and of the boy‘s bodies shows that formany hours they combatted the waves which con stantly swept high over the boat, until overcome by exhaustion they fell to the bottom of their frail craft and were drowned in about twelve inches of water. Isard was not strong physically. Ledbetter had removed most of his €lothing, apparently in preparation for an effort to swim ashore. | Possibly he saw the attempt would be hopeless or possibly he decided that he would remain with his fellow companion under all circumstances. At any rate, the two were found lying side by side. and make her fast. Then they towed the little Riévid Lo AJ Douglass, county physician. After a brief examination Dr. Douglass said: "Death was probably due to exhaustion and drowning. | The larger boy, oa a __L BLS hioaid Proc a 23d box receipt made out to Doolittle and Isard and dated at Longport Novemis probable that, worn out by their exertions, the finally gave up the strugf PIANQS TUNED W. The surrounding . ground | will be fixed up in an attractive manner and very tasty furniture will be supplied, and the npartments will be offered for rent at the coming season.
