COMMUNICATION To the Editor of the Star and Wave; We have been reading with interest some of the articles by ‘Mey." What Cape May needs first is that its Citizens get awake to the spirit of the his ond nntredfiatninides Antal wacchciatt er rasirond fares, for our own folks. There is no reason under heaven why Cape May should not have the same rate of fares as Asbury Park, and Atlantic City the year around. New Yorkers to come here have to pay ten dollars and ten cents a round trip, at the present time when the old fare was five dollars and fifty cents. To make Cape May a real Resort we meed a lot of New Yorkers here. There is no class of people on the face ef the globe who are as good spenders me the New York folks. Now is the time that the Board of Trade should let the shipping world know about our harbor. New York City‘s water front is ued up by one of the worst strikes in the history of the Port. Why should the Government of the United States spend two millions of dollars on our harbor, and then the citizens of Cape May not try to interestoutaide capital to build wharves here. There is Jots of room on the north side of the Barbor, and enough water for boats dra twenty feet to get to them. bas railroad tracks run to the harbor, and freight trains could be run to Philadelphia . in three hours and New York in five hours and Boston in twelve hours. There is lots of land that could be to build rows of emp teg Noor tn adie abig to live near the — wharves, — above | Schellenger‘s Landing Bridge, and between that and wal Roc.. A steamer between Cape May and New York for three months of the that it would be glad to sell at almost amy price. A boat leaving New York at six in the evening would‘be at Cape Jury by seven o‘clock-in the morning. A new hotel on the Stockton lot «hould be the slogan of the citizens of Cape May, then we world be in a po sition to get busy and get some conventions bere. ‘We have a convention hall, fornie ipiabrnane dbridener uihruie mdr anes «about foor bunprod guests apiece, we cannot expect the crowds.. Market . street ferries . could . be made by at least one train a day on us we are so far away, ‘The Board of Trade should take up this matter of Readings — one fifteen . in mot the old, old story kind that ahve gotten out for the last twent de ca

about January first send a man south to the Florida resorts, not an ordinary man, but one of pleasing manners, and a good talker. A half page ad vertisement in the Saturday evening Post would reach two million people ads issue. Some of Cape May folk say "Oh that would cost too much." Did you ever hear of anyone making very much es if they had anything Cape May hasn‘t anything to sell, I am very much mistaken. From a natu ral standpoint, we have all of the other resorts on the Atlantic Const beaten to a frazzel. Come on Cape May lets get awake and be the greatest Seaside resort in America as we were ... one time, and can be again. THE HUSTLER _-_-_oog...__..
