county votetor republican congress Domination An analysis of the vote in this county for the Republican nomination for Congress is interesting. The resorts, with the exception of this city, South Cape May, Wildwood Crest, one ■ ward in Wildwood, and one ward in I Wildwood, were against Bright land for Bacharaeh. Three of the j townships, with the exception of the third product inrthe Middle, were for ^•B right and one and the third Precinct inlffiaaie were against him. The activities of the Anti -Saloon. accounts for a large percentage of Bright's meagre suoceas ih borne county. In this dty, the Anti-Saloon League' support and the feet that our people somewhat strong for county representation in Congress were the factors. Bacharaeh carried two of the three wards in the dty of Wildwood, Bright's home dty, one ward North Wildwood, and the new ; of West Wildwood. Bright carried his own ward in Wildwood by ■ but the plurality of 7. 1 This was somewhat illuminating to 1 the rest of the county. Wildwo68 is always keen for its own dtizens and | is not in the habit of treating them thus indifferently. It should have [ been more interested in the nomination of one of its own citizens than any other part of tthe county, but ap- ' parently it was not. The real issue upon which the battle was fought was wet or dry. posed as the dry candidate and accused Bacharaeh of bcir-jr in alliance with the wets. lie was. roost rigorously backed by the Anti-Saloon upon this basis. This organization seem to have taken a go . d deal for granted in the selection of a candidate and it will be some time, in these parts, before confidence in their ^ ■ judgment in these matters will be I restored. Oape May County will go I ( dry any time upon a clear cut wet and dry -issue but no camouflage is ! «-anted. i The ladies voted freely here and pcrsuirtably throughout the county, 1 most of them sincerely anxious to back up. prohibition and this was a i most encouraging feature.
