STATE POULTRY SHOW B166EST-AND BEST EVER 1 ■ - ' • ' "T < For a wtak the State Armory at Trenton has been resounding with the t cackling of hens, the crowing of roos-J tars and the competing voices of tbeflP t ^ owners who brought them there that ] they might exhibit their beautiful plu- ^ mage, wonderful type, ability to jSro- i dooe eggs or poultry meat, and other I qualities that make the proud owner f of a high class bird oqe of the great- f est live clock enthusiasts that can be ( met up With. £ • LeSS noisy, but none the less of splendid type and beauty were tie . hundreds of pigeons of all types and das^pe, rabbits of many breeds and j _ _ very much enjoyed by the children, L both young and old. The entire floor of the armory was c taken up -with the cages for the birds and pet stock, with broad avenues containing display pens which made p the show tfie largest and most attractive one e»'er held in the state. The p - space under the balcony around the r aatiitfarinory was occupied by dealers - of poultry feeds and equipment which s Was mighty instructive and gave the visiting poultrymen an opportunity to F study the most modern equipment and j 'ece orders 'if they wished. At one e' ' c -d of the armory was fcn educational • xhftdt prepared by the State Agriruttuml college that was a Mecca for 8 tbdM wishing to get information of any sort on the practices of raising ^ poultry. * The quality of the birds exhibited A ni vary high, none better being 14 . shown anywhere in the country. The attendance at the show was not parti- " cularly large hut for the first attempt of the State Poultry association to " hold its annual show the first week in *' December and to have the entire or- ^ ; mory, the success has been very I ratifying. a»w-"j"*6.

The show was kept open each eve- * rang and educational lectures were given along the subjects of Artificial Illsminaticn on Different Breeds and of Judging Birds for Egg Production. The show closed on Saturday night, | December 4, with the largest crowd in k attendance that had appeared through- !* Out the week. The exhibitors and tftembers of the State Poultry association are tired but happy and fee 1 that with the start that has been made the* next annual show is going to be one of the best shows anywhere in the eastern United 'States. The success of this show just passed was due in general to the spirit of Die team work manifested by the mem- , bars of the New Jersey State Poultry ; association and the New Jersey association of Poultry, Pigeons and Pet Stock Fanciers and in particular to > Hp splendid wofia of the show committee, headed by H. C. English of Bound Brook, as its efficient chairman and .George W. Cisco of Hawthorne, a show superintendent without a peer.
