Members of the Progressive League of Cape May are predicting that thru their eiforts the City of Cape May will appropriate a fund of $10,000.00 for advertising and publicity for the season of 1922. Last year the - amount for similar purposes was $2,50000 and that sum, in the opin. \ Jons of the League is far from being ^sufficient to extol the virtues and advantages of their city as a summer ttfsortThis is one of the fastest "growing organizations in the county and at the same time one of the best results producing bodies organized in south Jersey for a number of years. In addition to boosting the advertis. ing budget the League is planning many other features of a progressive nature- One of the first steps after organizing was to place a sign costing $400-00 at the Junction of the main shore road and the Rio Cft-ande-This sign is not only unique in its attractiveness but it is one of best!' of jts kind along the Atlantic coast. Eastern Star, had an official visitation from the -District Deputy, Mrs. Nettie Burt, on Thursday evening, October 20th- After the. ceremonies quite an elaborate collation was served and enjoyed by all- The decorations were autumn leaves and dahlias. The board j of freeholdei-s has been notified that ' the fill there requires some attention, ' due to the washing of the tides against the road embankment- The ' state . highway commission also has been invited to have representatives with the board when it goes to make the inspection next Thursday. This road is a link in the state ' ocean boulevard, and, according to ' the letter of invitation sent the cham- J ber of commerce, it is a project of
the chamber- If ever fully completed, it is statpd, it would be a wonderful improvement for . both the f county and seashore resorts.
