My dear Sir: I have your letter of 4th inst., enquiring as to my knowledge of about how often the steamer "Republic",8 to make a landing at the steam- * boat wharf at Cape May Point while I' on her regular trips between Philadel- ' phia and Cape MayIn answer I will say that 1 was aclively engaged with the management g of the "Republic" on that route, for ^ the ten years from 1878 to 1888, and the manager of that boat, on the : route for the next five years, 1888 to 1893, and again the three years 1899-1900-01, in all eighteen tof the twenty-four years she between Philadelphia and Oape In those eighteen years there but four trips that she failed to make her landing and discharge her passengers at the steamboat landing, and three days when we came down and landed our passengers, but was to leave the wharf before our regular starting time, on which occasions those passengers who were
