{SUCCESSFUL MEETING The opening of the 21st B. M. C. G. " U.iO. of O. F. held Sept 11th to 16th Halworth Theatre, Cleveland, Ohio, was attended by over 2,000 visitors- , 12,452 delegates answered roll call, . 452 of the delegates were sent to the Hhd. Thirty states sending representatives, Cape May was represented by I A. Kirby of Naomi Hhd. of Ruth 1590, • T. A. White of the Supreme ! Court, who on behalf of Gov. Harry > Davis bade a cordial welcome to the , Of Ohio- Gov. Davis being unJ able to attend on account of - special , session of legislature concerning coal v strike, sent a letter of regret of his 1 absence stating he sent the next best ! man of the state to take his place. 1 Fred Kohler, Mayor of Cleveland, i, welcomed the 21st B. M. C- to the dty I, expressing to the delegates that the . hospitality of the city government and the citizens were at their service and he wanted all to feel perfectly at e home. ^

Major W. T. Anderson, U. S. Army, speaking for the citizens of Cleveland, spoke of Mayor Kohler as a true friend to all who tried to do right. He considered all men who applied for positions if qualified to held the same ' regardless of race or color. . ' Many important positions being held in Cleveland by members of our or1 der. His secretary being a member of our race. Grand Master Edward a . H. Morris read his report as delegate^ ' to the A. M, C. which met in England I in May. A telegram of sympathy [ from the B. M. C- to Pres. Harding ! was acknowledged assuring the B. M. ' C. that the President was grateful of 't the expression of sympathy coming j from the members of this Grand Or- ! der.

Grand Secretary reported 728 new branches in two years, making a total of 6,579 lodges. Reception in honor of delegates and visitors was held in the seven million dollar City Auditorium which was dedicated the Sunday preceding. Our order having the henor of the first reception in this building, one of the most beautiful of its kind in this country, seating 10,000 people. The parade on Thursday was an impressive one. Crowds witnessing the sights ; from East 30th street to Luna Park . where the drill contest was held. There was enjoyment for all and ' those who were present at the 2lst M. C. will always retain pleasant . memories of the events of the week and the welcome and kindness of the citizens of Cleveland where every man • is considered on account of his ability . not his raceA.
