FAKE COOPERATIVES BECOMING A MENACE At a recent conference between the State Federation of County Boards <rf Agriculture and the State Bureau of Markets, facts were set forth showing that the term "cooperative" wasfrequently misused in New Jersey, and it was decided to ask the legi»_ ture this year to pass a law sfiniiar to the New York ^tate and other state laws preventing the use of the word "cooperative" in the name of an organization excepting when the bylaws and form of organization complied to certain, definite, cooperative principles. One society with headquarters in New York City was reported by the New York State Department of Farms and Markets as having a large number of salesmen in New Jersey selling their securities. The New York Department wrote that this organization was a common law trust with absolute power in the hands of three trustees living in Chicago. The Bureau oi Markets feels that cooperation when conducted in a practical business way on sound econmic principles, can accomplish certain benefits, but it feels that with the recent interest and enthusiasm shown there is grave danger of much harm being done through the misuse of the term "cooperative." ^ SEASON OPENS OCTOBER 16 FOR DUCKS, GEESE AND SNIPE

With the wild fowl season opening October 16th, New Jersey gunners can anticipate a Fall and •Winter of excellent sport on the bays and rivers of the state, as all reports i agree that the increase in wild ducks [ and geese, which began with the elimination of Spring shooting under Fed ' eral laws, is still more marked , this ' year. Large flocks of black ducks s and the vanguard of other wildfowl ; , already are making their appearance j along the coast and inland streams- " Game which may be hunted during ; this open season includes wild ducks (except wood ducks), wild geese, coot, f galiirules and Wilson or Jack snipe. f Wood ducks are protected during the e entire year. The wildfowl season con- , tinues to January 31. The game laws fix the following daily bag limits on wild fowl and shore birds; 25 in al 1 of ducks (except Snore Diras: zo jn ai i ui uuuu> ___
