Begin Awards In Contest ^ Salt water fishing is officially underway with the arrival of croakers which began to run this week, according to entries received in the seventh annual Cape May County fishing contest. The partyboat season has tak..i on an added spurt and, where earlier in the month, the craft left only on Sundays, daily trips to the fishing grounds are now being made with good catches re-
ported.
Interest is rapidly increasing in this year's contest and more particularly in the weekly awards which will begin this week and continue until September 11. The initial weekly winner will be made known next week with the report of the judges compiling the list of entrants which
have been received.
Everyone has the same opportunity of sharing in the weekly award. Director Jackson said, since a drawing is conducted, and the sire of the catch is not considered. The same entrant i* eligible for one of the attractive prizes to be awarded at the conclusion of the contest in October. Director Jackson, however, suggested that anglers in order to participate in the weekly prize drawing, should mail or give to their boat captain their entry as
soon as they dock.
Entry blanks may be secured from captains of party boats, fishing piers, bait and tackle stores, dock masters, information bureaus of Cape May County resorts and from the fishing con-
test committee.
