Recruiting Caravan In County Monday A Navy recruiting caravan will visit Cape May County on. Monday, June 8, to enlist county men and youths in the service of their country. Officers will be present to plain the many opportunities which the Navy offers young men to serve their country. Any boy over the age of 17 is eligible for enlistment if he is physically qualified. It will be possible to undergo examinations while the caravan is in this county and to emerge from the examination a fullfledged member of Uncle Sam - sea forces.
Executive’s Party Enjoys Fishing Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lew: of Philadelphia, and a party of friends enjoyed a day’s fishing off Cape May on Saturday. Mr. Lewis chartered a local boat and the group returned to port at the end of the day with more than two bushels of fish. II were enthusiastic about Cape May’s advantages as a fishing center, and they loudly praised this resort’s harbor facilities, nearness to the fishing grounds and the general convennee offered here. Mr. Lewis is general manager of the International Harvester Company’s Philadelphia branch.

Obituaries MRS. ALWILDA N. FOSTER Mrs. Alwilda N. Foster, years of- age, the widow of the late Captain Edward Foster, of Green Creek, died Monday, June 1st, following a lingering
illness.
Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 o’clock at Hie late residence, with the Rev. William
Bullock, pastor of the Cold Spring Presbyterian Church, officiating, assisted By the ’ Rev.
Charles Fraser, pastor of Green Creek Methodist Church. Under the direction of Earl L. Hollingse&d, mortician, interment will be made in the Baptist Cemetery at Cape May Court House. MRS. FRANCES SWAIN Mrs. Frances (Weiler) Swain, 87, wife of the late Marvin C. Swain, died in the Collins Rest Home in Ashbumham, Mass, on Monday, May 25, following a long illness. Mrs. Swain was a resident of Cape May for 40 years before moving to Templeton,
Mass.
She was born in Lancaster County, Pa., October 9, 1854, and was the daughter of Jacob and Rosanna Weiler. She leaves four children, John F., of Millville, Bessie A., of Ralston, Catherine S., of Baldwinsville, Mass, and Myrtle S. Lynch, of Fairfax, Va., three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Recreation Board Meets Toniglrt The Cape May Recreation Commission will meet tonight at which time plans for the softball league and other commission activities wiU be advanced. John Cunningham is chairman of the softball league committee which is planning a schedule to provide games four evenings a week during the season at Seaview Park. There will be Army, bfavy and civilian teams in league. Teams listed to date are Coast Artillery, Section Base, VJ6, Officers’ Club, Marines, Naval Aviation and VT9. Any group or organization desiring to enter a team should contact Cunningham. Plans were advanced for erection of a backstop and bleacher seats at the park.
PLAN CLOSING PROGRAM Friday, June 12, will mark the closing of the school year at the Franklin Street School. After a short program in the morning assembly, Dr. Edward E. Pickard, city school superintendent, will present certificates of promotion to the pupils of the eighth grade.
