“The fact that automobiles are longer being manufactured, tires are. irreplaceable and gasoline rationed should not lull iocal officials and the public into the philosophy that -'these factors rill eventually result in a comiletc solution to the traffic probem,” said the Commissioner. “Nothing could be farther from the truth and the best evidence is the experience in England where traffic deaths increased 51.9 per in its second war year over the con-espondia^^pre-war period. The situation ir^this country may be quite similar-to the English unless we bolster our defenses against traffic's principal enemies—recklessness and indif-
ference,” he declared.
Bluefish Running In
County Waters
COURT HOUSE—Bluefish have started to make their appearance in Cape May County waters with large catches being recorded, Director P. H. Jackson, in charge of the seventh annual fishing con-
test, announced today.
Fishermen are optimistic over the unusually large catches being made, and predict that the line specimens hooked in this early stage of the season will result in mor£ bluefish being brought ashore this year than in
any recent summer.
Entries in connection with the popular county contest disclose that blues have started to run all
along the county coast.
