Cape Theatre Review By the Observer The revival of "Yes, My Darling Daughter” at the Cape Theatre, which opened Tuesday evening, proves to be the hit of .a son which* is rapidly growing ... interest, the attendance now having reached a figure rivaling other years. The cast was as follows: Lewis Murray, W. James Bedell; Ellen Murray, Florence McGee; Connie Navins, Ruth Gregory; Martha, Jean Weyl; Ann Whitman Murray, Frederica Going; Titus Jaywood, Philip Earle; Douglas Hall, John Byers. The small cast of regular members of the company did full justice to this amusing comedy of modern life which had a long run not long ago on Broadway and which is well known both in pictures and on the stage throughout the country. But it is also a play which many people have not seen before and which many who have seen it want to see again. Florence McGee in the leading role brings her talents to the fore in the part which was so attractively played in New York by Peggy Conklin. Miss McGee is

lovely in this and is also just pert enough for it. Mr. Bedell is a huge success as the father, and Miss Going reveals new powers in the longest part in the play -r* the mother. Mr. Earle as usuaT gives another in his gallery of excellent interpretations. Mr. Byers and Miss Gregory were fine too as the young man and the aunt. Miss Weyl, who was a member of the junior group at the Cape Theatre for two summers, returns for this play after a year of study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. The play will run through Sun-

day night

For the week beginning August 18 Director T. C. Upham announces there will be another very amusing farce-comedy, “Apron Strings", which will run from Tuesday through Sunday. On Sunday and Monday evenings the junior group at the theatre presented a • new play “Slight Barrier" by Edward Hunt, a member of the company. The play is a character melodrama set in the background of Maine in the Nineties. In the play were Connie Dilks, June Wilgus, Nancy Williams, Jinny La Salle, Marillyn Lush, Winkie Van Lennep, and Edward Hunt. The entire cast was proficient in the parts and won the appreciative plaudits of the audience. The play was well staged by the author.
