JjdisAi Jo -J Jha fidiioJi.... .PROM A SOLDIER To the Editor: It has been my intention to write previous to this date and thank you wholeheartedly for ■ending me a weekly copy of The Star and Wave. However, due to the fact that in the last few weeks, I have been transferred 1600 miles, started in a new . school, and at present ended up in a hospital, I just didn’t have the opportunity. But you may take my word for it, sir, no matter where I was, a copy of The Star and Wave was very welcome. As you very likely realize, letters from home folks are very welcome but they cannot cover all the news of a city. So you might say that it is a real bridge covering over 2,000 miles, all the way here : " Denver. Incidentally, my new address is here at Lowry Field. I was transferred here from Kessler Field, Miss., on July 27 for the purpose of attending a certain Air Corps school, the name of which I dare not divulger I will admit, however, that only men with an l.Q. of 135 or better (mine being 148) were chosen or as it actually turned out, one man out of every 900 to 1000 men were chosen. I mentioned being in the tion Hospital. I am writing from In bed there right now. It appears that I contracted a case of flue and I have been there' for the last three days listening as our planes take off for far distant spots within a hundred yards of my window in this ward. I’d like to thank you again for the punctual appearance of the paper: believe me, I appreciate it! Respectfully, ALLEN F. WILLSON, Pvt, U.S.A.A.F. FROM AFAR . . . To the Editor: Just received the July 16th issue of your paper and that is really service here (guess where) and not only myself but another Cape May County fellow and several from Philly that are here with me really enjoyed it and we all send our best wishes and sin- , cere thanks. Wish that I could give you all the names but you know that would divulge most of the station personnel and contrary to my Wishes cannot at the present be
done.
Our Commander is also a Cape May visitor and has very often stooped in there with • his yacht ana will no doubt get a kick out of it when he gets a chance to read it. Best wishes to the Mayor, Paul Snyder, yourself and the rest of the staff. Keep the Boardwalk lights out, your hopes lit up and the PAPER coming. Thanks a million. MAYNARD W. WHITE CRM (PA) USNR Naval Radio Station FROM A SERVICE MAN: To the Editor: Please publish this name and address telling those who wish to write that it will be appreciated. Thank you very much. PVT.
