Gridmen Avenge Defeat; Beat Middle 6-0 WILDWOOD — Cape May High School evened up matters here Saturday afternoon by defeating Middle Township High by a 6-0 score before a large crowd gridiron fans. Two weeks ago Middle routed the Cape May team at Cape May by a 14-12 score. Both teams were deadl the first half, resulting in a purfting duel between Rutherford, Cape May quarterback, and Roberson, Middle fullback. Opening the second half, Cape May resorted to the air, and the ball was placed on the sevenyard stripe. Clarence Cooper, left halfback, went over for the lone touchdown from that point. Middle Township threatened to score in the final period on a series of passes which brought the play on the Cape May fiveyard, line. Cooper saved the game when he intercepted a pass on his own three yard stripe and was tackled at midfield. The Cape May team will play Pleasantville Saturday afternoon at Pleasantville, transportation and weather permitting. The game will start at 2:80. To date Pleasantville has won one game and tied one. Next week, the Stegermen will play Ocean City away, and on November 14 they are scheduled to play Salem in Cape May. Line-ups for Saturday’s game
