Kiwanis Pinmen Rolling In New Contest By Jen Rutherford Hello, everybody! Here’s your horsey correspondent back with you again for the new winter Kiwsnis bowling series to be played at the Cape Recreation Center. A 72 game schedule has been arrsnged, winners of the first half wfQ .play winners of the second for the grand championship. M. C. Frymire. Cape May's stylist, will captain a hard boded outfit known as the Big Shots, composed of Kingfish Holhngsead, little Andy Steger and Juicy Harris. You know, folks, Herby is so patriotic. He just junked a beautiful 1942 Chevrolet and donated it to the salvage committee. Nice going, brother! Kid Hughes, who is bowling from a go-cart thes*. days, will captain a wild and wooly bunch composed of Trouble Lehman, Two-Gun Kuni and Cape May’s real estate czar, dapper Eddie Griffin. Keep both eyes on this team. They're really vicious. They will be known as the Trouble Shooters. Honest Amos Ricker will lead the Blue Bloods, a classy, snappy bunch of keglers. That suave and sophisticated ex-Hollywood star Pickard is his lead-off man. Say, you should have seen this gent ewer at the dredge dinner. He wrapped a slice of Virginia baked l»«m around two turkey legs and, brother, did he go to town? Oh, yes, and the Kearney avenue prince is on that team . . . “Handsome" Wally and the Little boy with the big scores, of course it’s Albert. Not bad, eh? They'll be a good runner-up any way. Well, last but not least come* the Rutherford Trotters, headed by your horsey correspondent. TTie King of 5 & 10 stores, Nick Swain, is number two man. Uncle Frank Rutherford (or I should say Mayor de luxe and U. S. Navy inspector) is number three man -and darlin’ Jack Cresse, the great screwball bowler, anchor
man.
Jack is better known as the ink spot bowler. He has an ink •pot on the alleys for his delivery gauge. (Of course, that’s
science).
Now that we’re all acquainted here are the highlights of the - first two matches. Harris stole _ the show with a 244 and 2101 = game. Eddie Griffin paced pff a | = 196 and 218 game. Lehman back- “ ed him up with 193, A1 Little upset the whole works with 201 - 212 and 195 for three games. Cresse added insult to injury' with a = 220 and a 215 game. Hollingscad “ cracked off a 201 game. Steger popped up with 187. Frymire dusted off the alleys for 203. Wally threw in a 188 game for good measure, which gives us the final
team standings:
Won Lost
Big Shots 6 1 Blue Bloods 4 2 Trouble Shooters 3 3 Trotters 0 6
